Additional Verification Checks for Speed Limiters during Risk Management Implementation Audit

From 1 January 2026, Risk Management (RM) implementation audits will include verification checks on speed limiters installed in lorries.

This is because installation and effective implementation of speed limiters are among the reasonably practicable control measures that would mitigate the risk of serious injury when commuting in lorries.

As part of bizSAFE application or renewal, companies without speed limiters in any of their lorries would not be able to complete a satisfactory RM audit from 1 January 2026 onwards.

While bizSAFE is structured as a five-step programme, companies are not required to progress sequentially. Organisations may apply directly for any level, provided they meet the specific requirements and criteria of that level.

Comply with Workplace Risk Management Regulations

Under the Workplace Safety and Health (Risk Management) Regulations, all organisations are required to conduct risk assessments for every work activity and process within the workplace. These assessments must be reviewed whenever there are changes to work activities, processes, or at least once every three years in accordance with legal requirements.

Achieving bizSAFE Level 3 and above demonstrates that your organisation has established effective systems to identify, assess, and control workplace risks while meeting regulatory obligations under the WSH (Risk Management) Regulations.

To attain this level, companies must engage an Auditing Organisation (AO) registered with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to carry out a formal assessment of their workplace risk management implementation using the official bizSAFE Level 3 Risk Management Audit Checklist.
